I have just got a nice new lorry and it is fitted with a digi, I can use the digi but am interested to know from experienced euro drivers what the score is with overspeeds, particularly in France and Spain. I like many who used analogue for years would quite happily let it run up to 100km/h on occasions. I have been told however that “overspeeds” on digis can attract horrendous fines - what does the team think??
Maybe Vascoingles would know as one of yours came thundering past me at light speed on thursday!!
I don’t think it’ll get you a fine. Unless you do it constantly. As long as your limiter is operational you’re OK. A telling off could be the worse that’ll happen. I’m probably wrong.

where was that ? Volvo or a DAF ?
and we do not thunder we advance gracefully with speed
no problems with overspeed yet as far as plod is concerned
I didnt say it wasnt graceful, just going like stink, I overtook him on a slight up hill then he came past me on the downhill must have touched 120 I guess! It was a Volvo Dutch plated cant remember exact location but on the 66 heading south.
So my several dozen overspeeds on my first days out in the new motor shouldnt be a problem then?
Thursday that would have been our Thijs who just mananged to get to Los Barrios and tip Thursday and has reloaded Aguila de Frontera, Montilla and Valdepeñas and is now on his way back to plastic germany

If you press OK twice does that not cancel the overspeed showing up ?
It keeps a record of the highest last "“10"” over speeds and depending where you are is what will happen to you , this what we were told when we were introduced to the digi tacho, by the person running the course .
Just in case, you only get an overspeed warning IF you do over 90 for more than a minute.
So what I do is watch the km markers as well as my speedo. I usually make sure I pass a .0 or .5 marker at 90, then let it go for just under 1.5km, then pass that marker at 90 before letting it go again. No overspeeds, ok, very few overspeeds on any printouts I might make.
Clicking the ok button once or twice just stops it constantly flashing up on your tacho. It doesn’t stop an overspeed from being recorded to show up in a printout or download. Ignoring it makes no difference either. If you let it go on a long hill with a flat bit half way down that’ll slow you down to 90 then let it go again. If it causes 2 overspeeds it’ll record 2 overspeeds whether or not you press the ok button. If the flat bit doesn’t quite slow you down to 90, it’ll only record 1 overspeed, but I think it records either the length of time on overspeed or the distance covered as well as your speed.
There was a rumour that the Belgians just counted up the number of your overspeeds and fined you, I haven’t heard that for a few years now though.
Hombre, are you still doing Gibraltar ?. Is there much going on down there at the moment, has the new government made any difference to the pace of development ?.

Yes i still work in Gib, but since the new government got in it has gone very, very quiet. They have stopped virtually all government funded building and civils with the exception of the new airport until they can work out just how much debt the previous lot left behind, and the signs are not good. Subsequently the frontier is like a ghost town even on a monday morning.
