Digi tacho question!

This might sound like a stupid question to ask, but underneath the driving time you’ve actually driven that particular shift, you have some more hours of a larger number, is that the driving you’ve done that particular week?
And how many spare rolls of paper are you legally required to carry? Is it 1 or 2? And do you have to store them in the foil they come in?
Like I say, stupid questions and probably answers I should know already

yeah it is you’re weekly driving time i believe. As for paper best to have a couple spare.Because if you get stopped by vosa they can ask you to print out 28 days worth.i think that’s what we were told on our cpc course anyway.Don’t think it an offence for not actually having any.But it is if you can’t print out what they ask for.I would leave it in the foil as it can easily get damaged.Think they are heat sensitive to.

When stopped the time under your drive time is the driving you’ve done in two consecutive driving weeks, so say on Friday yours says 80 hours, you’ve only got 10 hours left that week, then on Monday when you look just before you start the week, you can see how much drive time you have for that week mine said I done 47 hours 15 mins driving last week so I only could drive for 42 hour and 45 mins this week

With regards paper rolls there is no law in how much you need to carry, as long as its sufficient to do print outs as requested by vosa at a stop, but with me I have 1 roll spare at all time with me plus what’s in the head unit.

i was going to ask the same DAF i even took a picture

With regard to how many rols you need, I got a tug a few weeks ago in Norwich, I asked the nice VOSA man  what should be carried he said there is nothing in writing as such as to how many but if required by a police officer or vosa (who doesn’t have access to a card reader at the roadside) you have to have enough to print out 28 days worth of records :unamused: , he suggested three one in head and two spares. He did also say that if you hadn’t got enough paperto do the print outs as requested it could be an offence of failure to produce records just the same as not carrying 28 days of analouge charts.

If I was a VOSA man. I would have a nice little sideline. I would have half a dozen spare paper rolls in my pocket like a ■■■■■■■■■■ has biscuits for the fat kids. But by hell they would cost you a kings ransom at the road side :stuck_out_tongue:

Take your chance at court sir, or give me £25 for this, the question you have to ask yourself. Is, are you feeling lucky punk? Well are you!.. :stuck_out_tongue:
