Digi tacho printout question

Was working with digi tacho today & another driver who saw me getting a printout at the end of my shift, flung the door of my cab open and cried “What are you doing printing that out”? :open_mouth:
“What do you mean” I replied
“You don’t take a printout it’s all on the card” says he
“Thought I had to still take a printout for my own records” says I
“No all you’re doing is wasting printer paper” he angrily replied & stormed off :imp:

So whose right? Do I need to take a printout or was clever ■■■■ right? :unamused:

:sunglasses: keano, you don`t HAVE to get a print out…but,

  1. If you`re agency I would incase of duty / pay queries.

  2. If you`ve had a infringement, for example going over your time - for legitimate reasons and you need to write the reason on the rear.

  3. If you`ve printed one for reason 2 above…print a spare…just incase!

:sunglasses: Im sure if im wrong someone will soon put us both right

keano1:

He was. In a normal shift there is no requirement in law for you to take a printout.

Stopped by the paper polis eco-bobby.

Sounds like a right nut job, I mean who runs over to tell a driver to stop wasting tacho paper.

You should have shouted for a first aider as he was obviously concussed.

If someone had a pop at me like that, I’ll tell 'em where to go.

…as it’s usually me having to feed the flamin’ printer anyway. I’ve never found any spare paper in any truck yet.

There never seems to be any spare rolls in the units. I carry one in my bag now and it stays with me. If the VU is empty when i use mine, i remove it after i’ve finished printing. Tight, i know, but i don’t want caught short if vosa ask for one and there’s no paper…
