Digi tacho "OVERSPEED!" help

cargocargocargo:
We tried a download and the overspeeds are recorded on my card but not on an end-of-shift printout.
.

Can you expand on that any further ? As far as i’m aware an “overspeed” shows as an event. As such the last several events are shown on the end of days print out. And NOT recorded on the card per se ? Maybe its something i’m not understanding. Anyway, can you elaborate more ?

Slight change of topic I personally think the bluddy overspeed warning is more dangerous than the speeding. Reaching up to reset it. Resetting it on the stick bluddy nuisance

I’ve had the occasional “overspeed” flashed up on the tacho head but never seen anything about it on any printout.

If memory serves me correct, the “overspeed” has to occur for a given length of time for it to register an event. I’ve an idea its 30 seconds, but i’m guessing. But it definatley shows as an event [once its triggered] when you do a print out.

Why would you Over-Speed as Employee? (if not ordered?)

For poops and giggles mainly, got her up to 72mph fully laden on A14 the other day, unfortunately not for long enough to get the overspeed bonus.

■■■■ how many lad points do you get for that?! I am yet to achieve this status!

Memory is half correct, it flashes up after 30 seconds of over speeding if you reduce your speed and press ok before 1 minute it does not record anything on the card itself. That is my belief anyway.

I’ll let you know on Monday - we’ll do another download. Er, let me revise “Reading a Tacho Printout”, Chapter 1, too!

I think I am right in saying an overspeed is shown on a printout as an event using these symbols >> rather than the word overspeed.

I think you are. I’ve just found a printout from the first day it happened and guess what…FIVE >> events recorded! They were at 16:38, 16:41, 16:47, 16:49 and 16:52, all lasting 00 minutes, so basically the same stretch of S/C A-road, speed limit of 50mph. And I didn’t clear them - you can’t when in motion.

We had our motors turned up from 52 to 56 recently. But nothing was done about the speed warning light on the dash. I ended up being called in for loads of overspeeds. ■■■■ light would be on if I was just sitting on the limiter on the flat.

When the clocks went back and I was buggering about with the dash settings, I whacked up the speed warning (found it by accident) to 60 (or maybe higher, can’t remember) but I’ve never been called in for one since. Don’t know if it’s linked or not.

That is correct, the over-speed symbol is >>.

I have an old printout in front of me, it shows an over-speed with a duration of 00:00 and my driver card number in the vehicle events section but not in the card events section, the event is for the same date as the printout and a time when I was driving but it’s not shown in the card events.
Whether or not it would be shown in the card events section if the over-speed hadn’t been cancelled before 60 seconds I don’t know.

cargocargocargo:

Yes you can by pressing OK on the tachograph.

You’re right! Same as mine.

I did, and it didn’t. I had to wait until the old girl was stationary. I may be wrong, though - I’ve been wrong about most things so far.
