Digi tacho card change of address

Hi
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make a change of address and how long it will take and how much it will cost

Thanks

You don’t have to tell them, just renew it when it expires. If you do renew it then you have to collect the new one from a DVLA office or LGV test centre, and take the old one with you so they can download it. Easier just to wait until it expires though.

the thing is if you want to work for TW the address on your licence and card must match

You need a form D777B from http://www.dft.gov.uk/dvla/forms/~/media/pdf/forms/D777B.ashx. If you send me a tenner it’ll cost you a tenner.

These days they send it to your home address, no need to collect it any more. Changed getting on for a year ago.

Yep, spot on coffee. Moved house last year, new card sent to new address

I stand corrected, I moved a year ago almost to the day, I must have been one of the last under the old system.

Sorry but I moved about 3 years ago was told 6 months later by Mr VOSA that my digi card must have the same address as my drivers licence or I would probably die (or something like that).

cant download the pdf link

All that goes to prove is that VOSA employ some right idiots.

ignore the above post have managed to download the PDF
do I just print that form fill it in and send it back?
And am I supposed to send my driving licence in with it
can you not just fill the form out online

and what about the old way can you get the form from a post office
coz someone told me you get the form from a special post office and they send it to a DVLA test station where you collect it and return your old one

Just print form, fill it in and post. No need to send anything else mate

Or maybe some right idiots call themselves drivers?

Or maybe things have moved on since drivers were drivers? And now we just have to be a bunch of licence holders and lawyers, but still have to put in drivers hours , for drivers wages?

Hi bud i changed my address about feb time.
You send off the form and they send your new card out then you download yours at work and then send back the old one.
I was a bit concerned as it said to send it back in one piece so i sent it via special delivery requiring a signature as it was still valid for two years. (Didnt want some crazy postman selling it to a dodgy person who wanted to play the system lol)

I think you can do it over the phone now not sure i’ll have a look and get back
Buggers don’t give you another 5years valid to date though, new one had the same expiry date as old one

I did mine the old way and had to collect from VOSA in Derby. I handed it over to Doris, and she cut it in half and dropped it into an envelope addressed to DVLA. And then she asked me if I had downloaded it. :unamused:

I think it took about 10 days or two weeks cant remember which but not an eon. I wasnt too fussed to be honest as it was not up for renewal
