The star is at the side of a break of one hour or more because it was relevant to the old rules.
It’s no longer relevant so just ignore it 
Ok thanks for that thought I’d done something wrong
Back in the day a split daily rest could be comprised of three 1 hour rests and one 9 hour rest. The star denotes a rest that can be used for that purpose.
As above it’s no longer relevant as the new rules are one 3 hour and one 9 hour rest for a split.
