Do you really have to do one,As all of the information is stored on the card for the period that vosa would need to look at,

You only need to do one if you have to explain an accident or delay if you went over your hours for instance.

If your card is faulty, you must do a printout, if you lose your card, but not simply forgot it you do a printout and report it to the police.

Under normal circumstances you do not need to do a printout unless your employer wants one for any reason, there’s no legal obligation to take a printout unless you need to write a manual entry on one or you card is lost/stolen or faulty.
