Can this be done online? over the phone? or do i need to get a form?

Done on phone, very easy, done in a few minutes, just give them your bank card details, a few days it arrives, i had no problem, the lady on the end of the phone is very nice and you can have a flirt with her.

Just a thought. Let’s say you’re abroad for several months, You’ve got your UK registered digi card, But it goes wrong.
What do you do? The only permant address you have is back home.
Can you get one from the authorities in another country?

Same here (but not the flirting bit!). My new card arrived 48 hrs after the phone call.

Tried to sort mine out from Canada and they told me to wait until I got back to the uk
The only way I would think this could be done, is apply in the normal way, wait till it gets home uk address if you have a partner, there post it onto you at say the hotel you will be staying at on your 45 full rest. Just an idea.
Also if you ring the number in other post ask them there mite have a definitive answer.

I’ve now got the answer to this one.
In germany you will have to go the the German version of the DVLA for the area that you’re in at the time, Everything is done regionally. You simply hand in your digi card and they issue a new one after a few days.
In Holland it’s pretty much the same, But you go to the town hall.
