After a little advice and information please do I need to put my card in to move a unit from my drive onto a side street that isn’t a through route and park it next to the road rather than getting it blocked in early hours on a monday
If the vehicle was at your depot/ operating centre and a small movement was made it probably would not matter.but since it is away from base and outside your home and you move it, I think that it would be regarded as a break in your weekend rest. Can you not park it on the side road in the first place?
When I was taking a 7.5 tonne home I would finish my shift at home, but my new shift didn’t start until I had driven it back to the yard in the morning. I drove to work without the card in. If you are not on shift and not under instruction I don’t see the issue. Although some companies have specific policies on this so you have to be careful. When the truck data is downloaded the operator has to account for any time driven without a card.
Another option might have been to put the card in but set to “out of scope”.
