Quite interesting as it never happened to me before. I made a manual entry in the morning today and since that moment no more data has been recorded. My today’s work data is stored in the unit but it is not on the card. Do you reckon it is a card malfunction, recorder malfunction or just one off accident and if I start my new shift, will it happen again?

That day it came as Security Breach 43 and 44. Yesterday, it happened to me again as 43. Since I put on break at 12:51 no more data is recorded on my digi card but it is done on hard disc of tachograph device - you can see that as long as you do a printout from recorder. No idea why I sometimes meet another fault which is IMS fault 81.
According to this post IMS Fault 81 is what you get when you roll a vehicle without the engine running or the ignition switched on.
Code 43 is “Card exchanged missing or interlock open” and code 44 is “Last card session was not closed correctly”.
Is this happening in the same vehicle or different vehicles, if it’s the same vehicle my money would be on a faulty tachograph but obviously if it’s happened in different vehicles it’s most likely to be a faulty card
IMS fault 81 showed up when just driving a vehicle. It does not match to description which you provided. I use different vehicles and started using my ‘new’ digi card on 19th of March. First time fault 43 appearing on new one yesterday.
