Dig it!

Anybody had to dig there self out?

haha yes …two hours at leeming bar this morning …an hour at bestway team valley and 45 mins at ibstock throckley lol…so yes iv spent all day digging myself out!

sod that. forward plan cus if you cant keep going stay where you are

Many times in the past.No driver travelled without a shovel years ago in bad weather.

Yes, Luxemborg. Stopped for some cigarettes and couldn’t get out of the services. The snow seemed to be falling as fast as i was digging.
The worst of it, my boss had hung the snow chains behing the 5th wheel and didn’t tell me.

I was always wondering about leeming bar was that just to get up the slop. If u paid for parking u want a clear run.

Came close yesterday in Birmingham but difflock and changing axle settings all sorted

What a stupid thing to say

Dug myself out last week getting into a customers yard and had to use the diff lock more times than i can remember over the last couple of weeks.

Yea but if I’d paid to park at leeming bar Id expect someone to do it for me! Or is that too much to ask?

Does it never snow during the night when you’re parked up on your planet then?

And that is exactly what’s wrong with society eezer.

Fully agree.

The apathy and wanton ignorance some in the “community” these days is appalling. You’d expect it from the general public as that has been ongoing for years, but you’d have thought some brotherhood would have existed. It’s sad and quite frustrating that some hold this very shallow and immature belief of “screw you because I don’t trust anyone”

I’ll help out anyone and everyone.
I’m the first to admit that i have a bit of a racist trait. But i seem to put those views to one side when it comes to fellow drivers. I’ve jump started a few Bulgarian lorries, I’ve helped a Romanian change a suzie, I’ve been fed by some Iranians, An Algerian was out of oil, So i gave him a gallon, and when i was stuck in snow i was helped out by several different nationalities.
If we can’t help each other out, Then we’re in the wrong job.

I had that at the papermill at wigton before Xmas, it was lashing down with rain and I got soaked strapping the trailer then closing the curtains while a maru driver from Dewsbury was watching me over his newspaper thinking I couldnt see him.

Yep just to get up the slope …didn’t have a shovel so went in the garage to borrow one cheeky mare only asked me to grit the whole forecourt when I’d finished the slope :unamused:

It seemed fine when I got to leeming but as others have said snow and ice through the night didn’t help at all…

If i called my boss and said i couldnt get in because of snow, he’d probably turn round and say, “well what are you going to do about it then”…

Me spending 20mins digging myself out to get into the customers yard resulted in a cup of tea and a call to my boss.
