Different kind of bridge strike

Scroll down to see the overhanging lorry :open_mouth:

"Council carried out recent ‘protective kerbs’ work
Last month Devon County Council carried out major works to replace kerbs at Bickleigh Bridge.

The specially designed kerbs, which were first introduced at the bridge in 2009, help guide larger vehicles safely over the bridge to prevent collisions with the ancient structure."

PMSL! Yeah, looking at the photos of the trailer, definitely works !

:grimacing: money well spent obviously

I see the report noted negative comments about the driver , no doubt the angry abuse he got was written by people who don’t know nothing about lorries but are quite happy to get their cheap pallet rubbish they order online and expect it hand balled over a six foot fence or pallet trucked over shingle driveways or cracked paving stones.

Fair comment…

But that is still a â– â– â– â– â–  bit of driving.

I used to get that alot when delivering to residential, I even had someone want me to take their bathroom tiles up to the bathroom and when you say its kerbside delivery they give you a dirty look.

Still have nightmares about pallets of turf on steep driveways, shingle and kerbs. Guaranteed to bring on a wtf am I doing vibe…

Omg , these customers are nutters , buy cheap online and expect a six star delivery service and are fobbed off by their supplier who tell lies saying the driver will do this and do that .
Chefs are the worst, a few pallets of heavy food and drink with the pallet broken down and their stuff hand balled down a cellar or up three flights of stairs with no thank you or offer of a cuppa .
Or six pallets of compost lobbed over a wall so delay all the subsequent deliveries and collections .And then the dreaded turf they want dragged over a lawn using a pump truck and they all say the “Usual or regular “ drivers all go the extra mile so expect you to do the same too .
The dirty looks of a pallet lorry having the sheer audacity and cheek to reverse down a narrow when the school is over and Mums giving you that look .
Farmers who are always out when you ring up with a delivery eta and won’t help out with a hand ball drop due the ongoing back pains and it’s always market day when you show up, he has left the keys in the tractor ignition so you can unload it using his machinery.
