Has anyone experience of fitting a diff lock kit ,my ERF / Rockwell is sticking in and i have to take the sensor out to slide the shaft across with a screw driver to get it out,I’ve bought a new kit off ebay, is it a diff out job? i think it will want the new spring in,is there anything i need to look out for? thanks Dan.
Diff lock is always held in by positive pressure.Even if spring is u/s fork will drift into unlock unless its siezed on to the half shaft or the diff carrier.Thats why they have a lock in bolt to hold lock fork in position to stop the sprag dropping when ,if the half shaft is removed and air pressure drops the sprag will fall into the bottom of the diff housing. To change the sprag and fork on a rockwell you have to pull out the driving head and they are bloody heavy and a tight fit back into the banjo axle.
Thanks i will leave it until my paints dry and try it the summer cheers Dan.
