Diesel fairys

Our lot pay for parking, but not on MSAs, (which isn’t a loss for me as I wouldn’t park on them if they paid me to do so, as well as paying the parking charge,… horrible places. :smiling_imp: )

I never park in lay bys on principle, and in my opinion if you get fuel nicked there you’ve asked for it.

I only use truckstops if desperate, or if high value loads, I prefer my own places I have ‘‘collected’’ over the years, …mostly (selective) ind ests on the edge of town facilities.

I’ve had one attempted diesel theft (caught them at it) and that was way back in 2003ish…touching wood.

I will not park on MSA,s either as too much noise and awful food but I have to say Rob that in the future i will be asking for your input in these places to stop at, I have a few already and admittedly have a few lay bys that I stop at but would be happy to have your advice in the future in regards in good places to stop at, I have a nice spot in Darlington I stop at although I have been told there are fairys around there but never had an issue and always leave the back door open (excuse the pun ) I have only been driving for just over 12 months but always welcome to advice that will help and benefit me in the future.

Always willing to help a new driver bud, …BUT  , as for good parking places and the scarcity of them, (not talking about well known spots here btw) the more people who know about them who tell a mate in good faith, and they tell a mate and so on and so on, before you know it one of those ‘‘mates’’ leaves a mess, makes noise or some other excuse to get trucks banned, and another place has gone…I’m even selective as to which mates of my own I would tell tbh.
What I’ve done over the years is if I pass somewhere on route to somewhere that looks close to a pub or some facilities, I make a note, and use it in the future.

However if you are REALLY desperate one night, pm me, …that sounds sooo wrong  …for a PARK btw  , although I only do one area nowadays (S.West) so many older places I knew have probably gone.

Btw ‘‘back doors and fairies’’ …so many jokes so little time.

Thank you kindly sir and as for passing things on to ‘mates’ believe me that would not happen as I like to keep nice places to park to myself too, I have respect for places where I park up as I know if those places get out then as you say mess gets left behind and it snowballs so then it just shoots myself in the foot.

I am not to worried about pub etc but facilities are obviously very useful although I have become very good with my shot into carrier bags haha  I did see your one comment about carrier bags but if you get caught short I am certainly not going to do it on the side of a street etc, I am not an animal and have respect for others too.

Thank you rob i will definitely do that if I am really struggling, appreciate that and will most surely pm you

Haha at back doors and fairies but wherever i park up my doors are always open to intruders

At the end of the day,I need 7 hours solid.

Lewy, I’d personally take Robroy’s recommendations with a pinch of salt! I’ve parked up a few times with him in places that at first glance seem peaceful and tranquil but later turn out to be crime hot spots where I have during the night been both gassed and robbed! That’s the only explanation I can find for the banging headache and empty wallet the next morning. Beware.

You bring that up again? Seriously? :open_mouth:

You know as well as I do you aint allowed to mention it to AFTER the court case !
I’ve already told the Police. (Countless times)…that empty gas canister found in my cab was coincidence, and your bank cards and drivers licence I had,…I found next to your cab next morning, which you dropped, and I planned to return it to you next time I saw you.

Oh yeh,… and despite what you claim there is absolutely NO evidence of me ■■■■■■■■ interfering with you while you were unconcious.

So if Lewy wants a night out with me, there is nothing to fear.

I see what you did there.

Had my little boy with me at time, so first priority was to get tf away from there and ■■■■■■■■ to the tacho.
They headed back to their van when I shouted at them (out of window, I’m not THAT brave) and they just sat there, but I got last laugh I drove my trailer wheels over their fancy electric pump they were waiting to retrieve. :sunglasses:

As fopr the fit a decent fuel cap that doesnt work mate, for they lift the fuel sender out…or use a screwdriver bashed into the tank…if they want your fuel, they will have it, and they have the equipment for all scenarios.
had mine nicked once outside M.A.N. where i was going in the morning…they took out the sender unit…siphoned the tank…and M.A.N. wouldnt work on the truck cos it was off premises…i asked how i can get it into their premises…they replied…phone 24 hour helpline…what a joke…did it our self in the end.

I dont do nights out, do you leave your backdoors open even if you have a load on? to stop curtains getting slashed?

Boss doesn’t pay, unless it’s high value load.

That’s fine with me, I’m not an overnight security guard and they don’t expect me to be.

It isn’t fine, it is far from fine. Basically what he is telling you is that he thinks that in the 21st Century it is perfectly OK for you to park at the side of the road at the end of a 15hr day without even basic toilet facilities, let alone somewhere to get a hot shower and hot meal whilst he sits in his nice house with all the comforts of home.

Drivers need to find a backbone and tell companies that don’t pay for parking that it is not acceptable. They need to be told this during job interviews with applicants saying if they don’t pay parking then they don’t want the job and they need existing drivers to say no paying for parking, no night out.

Its funny how these companies who apparently don’t pay for parking manage to pay for it when its an agency driver.

PLEASE Conor dont waste your BREATH !!!

S~~~ in a bag and HAPPY

LMFAO and for MIN wage

Them there diesel fairy’s have been out again, I got sent to recover a DAF at 10 o’clock last night, the driver was in a lay by on the A1 at Carlton on Trent just having a 45 minute break, he heard a noise outside & disturbed 2 pieces of scum who were just ready to relieve him of a full tank, they fled when he got out of the lorry but not before they’d cut the fuel lines & taken the stack pipe out of the tank, we later found this down the bank by the lorry. Try & stay safe out there!!!

They are getting brave, attempting to Nick it while having a break. we

The A1 around Newark is diesel fairy’s play ground, doesn’t help the amount who still park overnight around there, and the large number of permant caravan dwellers that live around that area.

My first thought when I read he was parked in a ay by was.‘‘wtf did he expect’’ thinking he was there overnight… but on a 45 minute break? :open_mouth:
These bastds just take liberties and don’t give a ■■■■, mostly because they know that they won’t get caught. :smiling_imp:
