This Shaun Christopher Lloyd?
A YOUNG man who stole a classic car and set fire to it close to a petrol station was jailed for two years yesterday.
It was the third time that Shaun Christopher Lloyd had stolen a car and then deliberately torched it, Mold Crown Court heard.
On this occasion, Lloyd stole a 1970 Triumph Herald, cherished by its owner, and set it ablaze close to a Texaco filling station in Marine Road in Prestatyn.
His actions could have had catastrophic consequences, the court was told.
Lloyd, 22, of Queenโs Road in Greenfield, Holywell, was jailed for two years after he admitted arson, aggravated vehicle taking and disqualified driving.
Judge Philip Hughes told him: "It is the third time that you have taken a vehicle and quite deliberately set it on fire.
โYou are committing serious offences regularly. You have an atrocious record for someone so young.โ Only a substantial prison sentence could be justified, he said.
Des Parry, prosecuting, said on November 26 Stephen Bagnall parked his J-reg Triumph Herald, which was in very good condition, in St Asaph Street, Rhyl.
In the early hours he was told by police that it had been seen on fire. Lloyd had taken it, parked it in the road adjoining the garage and set it alight.
Matthew Kerruish-Jones, defending, said Lloyd could not remember what happened because he was so intoxicated.
