Didn't pass... didn't fail

So was meant to sit my C test today (well yesterday now) but things went very wrong.

Sat in the waiting room, nerves building as they do, until the examiner finally came to get me and we walked out to the truck. Got asked 3 show/tell me questions, and as I did so she noticed a cut or split in the front N/S tire. She told me to jump in while she went and got a VOSA chap. Out he came in his white lab coat and through the window I instantly heard him that “that’s going nowhere, I am going to have to put a prohibition order on it” I couldn’t believe it!!! I was sat there ready to start the reversing test only to be told sorry, truck is off the road, your test is cancelled :frowning:

The other student from my truck desperately hoped the tire would be replaced in time for his test a bit later. It turned out they had a second truck in time but the kind examiner said she’d wait an extra 20 mins for the tire to be done so he could use the same truck he was used to. After all that waiting and wondering if he’d get the chance to take his test, he reversed over and killed a cone instantly, doh! In all the practice attempts he managed it easily, just shows the power of a clipboard once it comes out.

Anyway they have booked me in for 2 weeks time, and I will get a couple hours drive before the exam. Not ideal, and I’d be lucky for todays weather and how quiet the roads were!

Like you say,at least you didn’t fail!. That’s the way it goes sometimes. When i turned up for my bike test they said it’s cancelled cos the examiner’s crashed on the way there :open_mouth:

That’s a bit crap, hope the training provider is covering your additional costs.

No covering of costs has been discussed, the only cost to me really is petrol for a 40 min drive each way, luckily off work on the next date too.

If costs are not you problem, then I’d view it as a useful training exercise!
You’ve already spotted that nerves play a very big part, and you hopefully can controls yours better with free new found experience…
