Brilliant thread and great story! You should of done a huuuge wheel spin followed by lots of completely over the top sideways action out through the gates followed by a right good cheery hoot of the horn
By the way, this thread is useless without pics!! (I’m on about the Granada, unless its the later rebadged Scorpio, ugly as sin ).
If its an earlier square model from the 80’s, ring up and pretend to be someone else, get an interview and go dressed as the 118 man
Looked at Gumtree jobs about 4 years ago started doing a couple of shifts and within a couple of weeks i was working 5/6 shifts a week still there good company good motor good boss !Lucky
I’ve worked for one cowboy outfit in the past in the north east. I was on a drop at Sheffield and was carrying scrap - I must have been about 6 months into the career by then. The “owner” (wideboy) decided to ring me on the hands free whilst I’m on the A1 passing Boroughbridge.
He calmly informs me that when I get to the drop off I should find a guy called “Ben” and take the package he has. Once I’ve done this, I should give him a bell back and he’ll send a few extra quid my way.
Alarm bells were ringing anyway until I turned up at the drop off and saw a few dodgy looking types eyeing me up.
I told the guy that I was delivering the task but that I would find my own way home and any “package” that “Ben” needed to give me would have to be collected by someone…
Suffice to say, the guy was arrested for fraud and embezzlement about 11 months back.
Terrifying when you’re a new lad like I was then though!!

Probably just as well seeing as he got busted
I never knew that, he did disappear off the scene as fast as he arrived, so that would probably explain it, bet he wasn’t as trappy in the big house
Discount diesel in them Onion boxes of his IIRC mate
Everyone else in that area was ROR at that time and they never had any problems, probably got bubbled to HMRC by a ■■■■■■ off driver, having witnessed the man’s management style, I reckon there were many to choose from
