Didgi card infringments

hi all got a strange infringement took my card out at 23.45 on a Thursday but somehow was booked back on at 00.45 on friday then recorded me working ? how come when my card was with me at home on rest :open_mouth:

Did you do a manual entry at the start of your next shift? If the answer is yes then you messed it up. If the answer is no then I have no idea dude.

yes did manual entry the infringement was the 6hr WTD rule if I messed up it would show up driving hrs too ?

No it wouldn’t show up driving hours mate as you did no driving hours, what with you being at home and all. You have during the course of your manual entry told the machine that you were at work though so it recorded that ā€œworkā€ time.

yes see your point but why did it book me back on friday when I didn’t start until Monday ?

It only does what you tell it.

Chances are good it will rain somewhere in the UK tomorrow, it’s equally likely you’ve ballsed up the manual entry, based on what you’ve told us so far.

Presumably you have time sheet to show you not at work? Do a print out, write on the back ā€œI’m a knob, sorry! Here’s some £££, please don’t fine/sack/kill me.ā€ Then move on with your life as you’ve worried about it too much already.

  Sorry I shouldn’t laugh but the ā€œI’m a knobā€ on your print out cracked me up. As others have said, don’t worry about it, it happens to us all.

One hour difference, seems like it could be a manual entry error due to the unit displaying UTC time? Easy done!

I tried a manual entry years ago and made a right balls up. Never done one since, not worth the hassle. Card in start, change truck card out of one into next (regardless of time difference) card in no manual entries crack on.

Which is fine if you’re starting and finishing when you enter/eject you’re card. However if you’re not like we do, then you need to be telling the unit that although you put the card in at 06:45 you actually started work at 06:30. Same for when you eject the thing as well.

Start and finish more or less. I’m salaried so not that bothered  drive different truck for maintenance/tyres etc.

Happy days then. I’m salaried also but we’re not as straight forward as card in, start. Card out finish. Manual entries every morning.

I’m salaried but they work out our weekly average off the tacho, so if I’m not recording all my work correctly I’m giving them time for free.

No manual entry can go against you if you get tugged by VOSA especially if there’s a fault they find and you try to tell them you did a daily check and it was OK then. If you put your card in and then set off a minute or two later they’ll ask you when you did your check. You’re then left with the quandry of whether to say you didn’t do one or admit to falsifying tachograph records by not making a manual entry. Its a win win for VOSA in both cases.

A manual entry also saves you the bother of trying to hide your ā€˜time sheet’ stating your actual periods of work should you get stopped by VOSA.

Card goes in at beginning of shift - start time. Then checks begin with card in. End of shift paperwork filled in last job - eject card, same time as I have put for finish time.

No need for manual entry.

Sounds good to me
