I did, and my mate rang me on the phone at around 11:03, so I answered with “good timing, just finished my 2 mins” He said “Ahh, is that why the dentist phone was ringing off the hook”

I did, finished a break at Southampton docks about 5 mins before and sat there until 11. The start and finish were marked by air raid sirens and a couple of ships horns.
Watched a couple of tugs put a barge into place and at 11 they also stopped and crew stood still.
Forkies and other drivers carried on working though, which I think is a shame.
As much as I have no time for vehicles parked on the hard shoulder for no reason, I would ignore a truck on this one occasion. Hopefully, if I was on duty, we would all be in the yard standing in silence instead of patrolling. As said previously, it’s not much to ask.
Yes, pulled into a lay-by on the A48 near Cowbridge. Was gratified to see a couple of cars do likewise.

Always have done - sometimes on my own by the roadside, sometimes joined by others. Nothing usually needed to be said, most observers know what I was doing. Now retired, but still observe and give thanks.
When my wife was a site manager at the KNDL warehouse on the A50 before she retired, she always ensured the entire place stopped for 2 minutes; she said it cost nothing and made people think.

Me and the missus shut up for two minutes. Not many around here seem to take any notice. At the shopping centre I saw one other bloke with a poppy !
Sanbach Services…southbound. They had a notice up saying they would’nt operate the tills for 2 mins. Not my thing but ok, I stood outside…the motorway wasn’t silent though!
