Diary - Just like Old Times

I apologise for not posting, my computer had a dicky fit and stopped playing.
I’ve now got a faster machine but it took a bit longer than expected. I couldn’t get on-line at all last weekend.

Betz:
just wonder why most the brits driver rather drive to Calais via Bruxelles from South (Lux, Leige and Aachen) not via Charleroi - Mons - Lille E42 / A16 ?

like before i read the Coffeeholic’s diary book - he did most drive via bruxelles for calais ? make me feel wonder what is wrong with E42/A16 route ? maybe too much traffic or keep away from Dounne ? :unamused:

We use the North Sea ferry routes, into Zeebrugge. From there it is 20 minutes longer going Mons - Namur rather than Brussels.
That makes the difference between getting into Swiss within 9 hours driving or running into a 10 hour drive.

I don’t go to Swiss every week. There are two of our drivers who prefer Swiss to Germany, so they get the first two Swiss loads. If there’s more than two loads, then it’s given to whichever one of us hasn’t been for a while.
I’ve mentioned before that I don’t bother finding out in advance where I’m going, Sunday morning is in plenty of time. If I need to know, so I can get in early to get away early for example, my boss lets me know.

Great diary and photos. Pictures of Lake Geneva reminded me of my holiday there last year, and the boat trip on the lake. Vevey and Montreux certainly look good from the lake. Looking forward to another swiss holiday in April.
