Is that the DVD or the ones on Youtube ?

always makes me laugh when drivers say i dont care what i drive as long as the moneys good.
i take it your so concerned about money you all drive smart cars  .
the reason im not convinced is a chap i used to drive always said hed rather keep his old erf than have a new m.a.n if they put a extra tenner in his wage packet , then he drive out the gate in his 3.9 range rover , puffs gone his tenner .
id rather have both , a top of the range scania , and a good wage .
to me theres far to many drivers selling thereselves short , accepting 2nd best

This might be a stupid question but, if ift trousers and coffeeholic both work for dhl how come you dont get the same unit as fenman who also works for dhl,i think.
On the axor/ fm issue i had an fm globetrotter and apart from the foot of glass that wont go into the door makin reversing a pain they are a great truck. I personally would choose the axor though cos of the raised driving position in comparison

I dont care what i drive as long as the money is good, when it comes down to it my primary reason for going to work is to make as much money as i can for as little work as i can do. Thats the top things i look for in a job.

Fair enough if the difference was £10 a week, for similar job i’d maybe choose a job with £10 less a week if there was a huge difference in the trucks and i was doing overnighters all the time.

As long as the truck is comfortable enough to get a decents night sleep in, got a heater that works and is clean i don’t really care that much. FM12 Globetrotter maybe not the roomest but still get a decents night sleep in it and be comfortable.

Given the choice between say £30K a year with a Fm12 doing overnights or £24K with a XF Spacecab, Topliner etc… i’d pick the £30K FM12 any day, think a lot of people would.

Luck of the draw. We need replacement trucks in our department and they happen to have these ones available. apparently they were ordered for a contract which has since fallen through. Also Flying Fenman does more nights out than we do.

:bulb: Every man and his dog must be drivin for dhl theese days. :open_mouth:
Back in the securicor days they got most of the irish drivers to buy there units from them. Not many went the distance.
Any of you come to ireland for dhl these days

I have never seen an FM…I guess it replaced the FL range?
Are they that bad?

Nothing as fancy as a Smart car in my case. I drive an old K reg Cavalier with about 130,000 miles on it which I paid £300 for 2 years ago. It’s battered and bruised but it gets me to work and back which is all I want in a car.

You’ll have to explain to me how putting the money and how much, or more importantly how little, I have to do to earn it, ahead of the vehicle I get given to drive is selling myself short and accepting second best because I’m not seeing it. The vehicle will be brand new with a 440 motor and auto box, to pull loads that weigh on average 5-6 tonnes, along with creature comforts such as air con, radio/CD to do a job where, apart from very rare occasions and usually only due to unforeseen circumstances, we don’t have two nights out in a row. Not what I’d call second best when to be honest a big cabbed truck would be overkill for our job.

It may make you laugh when you hear drivers say they don’t care what they drive and they put the money first but I can assure you it is true in my case. When I started with DHL I did so knowing the vehicle I would be driving was a Topline Scania even though I don’t like them and it would not be a vehicle I would chose to drive given a choice. Admittedly I knew they would be replaced within a few months, which made the decision to take the job easier but I still took the job and drove the Scania, without too many complaints.

They look like an FH that shrank in the wash.

Up until recently I was doing four nights a week in a flat top MK1, and its not that bad. I’m 6ft tall and had more room in the Volvo than in P cab Scanias I’ve had in the past.

Myself and Jimboy124 are regular visitors to Ireland, I’ll be doing three trips to Dublin next week, out Monday, Wednesday, Friday and back Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. I was there on Monday night of this week.

You’re not right bright you, are you? :unamused:

If you were you’d have realised the obvious flaw in your argument as soon as you wrote it. :unamused:

I just assumed he was too daft to realise you go to work to earn money to buy stuff that you like and enjoy, be it a car or whatever. Maybe he has had one too many bottles of cider today and didn’t manage to sweat it all out? :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it`s fantastic that a lot of the Drivers on here can dictate to the boss which wagon they want to drive :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:
