DHL to run Tesco RDC Reading?

I was at Tesco Weybridge yesterday and was told that DHL are going to be running the new RDC at Reading. Can anyone confirm if that is correct ?.

But Tesco own Stobarts so why would they?

They usually run the warehouse themselves if it’s a store delivery one which this will be. From current form they could get Eddie to do the transport although I think the love in is not as passionate as it once was.

That would leave doing the transport themselves or as I think the DHL frozen place will be shutting in the next year or two and moving a mile or so to a new site run by Tesco and keeping the transport in house so I’ve heard, Unity frozen is the only contact they have with DHL they may give the transport for Reading to DHL to maintain some form of relationship.

They haven’t got on that well with DHL in the past so I understand it but they like keeping a finger in the big boys: WIncanton, DHL just in case Eddie implodes.

They do :exclamation: and apple and Facebook. In fact the shop assistant in tesco promised me Stobart would deliver my new iPhone 6 next week.

I heard that TRG might do the transport as they are cheaper, anybody know why… :open_mouth:
