Wheel Nut:
Had to arrange to be home yesterday 15th to accept delivery. Sometime between 1400 and 1800. No calls, no card in door, no washing machine. The machine I bought was in store last Saturday. Now it has gone missing between Derby and Melbourne, about 7 miles away.
It was originally planned for last Wednesday but they were out of stock
even though the machine was accident damaged and sold as a manager special.
So from the store in the Wyvern to the house it was either delivered to the wrong address, it is lost in transit or in typical DHL style they have just ZB up. Currys are no better telling me that the item is in the warehouse in Newark and will be delivered on Monday between 1400 and 1800.
I was trying to save a few quid and it has badly backfired
Lesson No. 1; NEVER get an electrical distributor to deliver your stuff. Hire/borrow/steal a trailer or van whenever possible and shift it yourself; for one thing it can often get you a couple of quid extra knocked off the price.
And don’t stand for the b/s of “sorry you can’t have that one it’s the display model”; you’re paying THEIR wages!
Knowing Curry’s Wyvern (lived in Derby before I came down here) they’re probably lost somewhere in Allenton! There’s a couple of fields between your house and Derby, personal experience is that they’re well lost after the city boundary!
Back on topic; used to do a bit for Curry’s mid-1980’s when it was run by National Carriers, old boy called Roland was in charge then. They had those 'orrible Fiat units with the ratchet handbrake, and I seem to remember a weird starter button that I could never find.
Were always known as a good firm to work for.
