Yep - Fastway at Daventry.

Seems to me they are becoming a monopoly, I work for Royal Mail and we have lost contracts to them and TNT and the Government wants us to have more competion!!!
Delivered Hours Late ?
I think you’ll find DHL also have the Halfords, Homebase and CarpetRight contracts, all three are ex Exel contracts.
You are all missing the obvious one .

They merged with securicor omega as deutcshe post already owned securicor and had 49% holding in DHL Europe .They eventually got the 51% ownership and merged the whole shabang with securicor and dropped the securicor name as it had a poor reputation .
I can’t get away from them .It was a good company sometime ago , just right before the merger to be exact

I take it DHL arent too good to work for then?
Depends on what contract you are on and how your particular contract works .
DHL enforces quite a lot of stuff onto you , i’e crappy pay rises and reduction in pension plans and or benefits .All to fill their pockets more .It got like that after the merger when they turfed DHL management out in favour of Securicor management .3 instances of sickness in so many weeks and you get warnings all the way upto final .
The contract i work on is a stand alone company that DHL only has 51 % of the share the other 49% is owned by the people that want the transport .Upto now we have been left alone and the general feeling is that we will always be left alone , but you never know .(dhl recently offered a 2.6% payrise to the whole group , iceland nearly ended up having scraps with security staff , we being almost stand alone squeezed it upto 3.6% , whatever everyone else settled for i have no idea )
The only thing we have seen change is the new trucks are yellow rather than blue and so are any of the new trailers .Uniform is still exelL uniform and exel uniform is still being issued upon request .None of us have any of that stupid yellow crap yet .
The part of the group i work in is ok to be honest , they pay the best for the local area and you take the rough with the smooth just like anything else .No silly regulations with sickness and other abscences , the manager is good and very understanding to all requests and will always help you out if he can .
Never had a problem with them .
I’m with Halfords
Our signs have recently changed to Dhl.but our issued kit is still exel. All of our motors are in the customers colours and there is no mention of dhl or exel on the trucks.
Our pay rise was sorted out early for a change, much faster than we were Tdg.
Also i’d say were one of the best paid depots in the country {for what we do}
No complaints from me,apart from the hour it takes me to get to work,as all the jobs around here are paying well below a decent wage.

I enjoy working in DHL, I have been in there almost exclusively so far this year and have been offered a full time job on more than one occasion. There are only two things stopping me taking up the offer and neither of them are directly to do with the company or the work. Number 1 is the uniform and number 2 is the trucks. If I did take up the offer the regular vehicle would be a Scania Topline and I just don’t want to have to look after one of them on a regular basis. I hate them and could never muster any enthusiasm to look after it, which means I wouldn’t bother, which in turn wouldn’t look very good.

Lets see if i can translate it !!!
i To deliver excellent quality
Just sign to say all the goods are ok
ii To make our customers succesfull
Leave B+Q in Runcorn with a load for Doncaster directly behind 3 Doncaster trucks and choose which one of their empty trailers you like best to bring back so the customer pays more money for each run !!!
iii To foster openness
By making us aware when the top brass from the customer is visiting the premises so we can act normal and show them what a good job we do.
iv To act according to clear priorities
Although they will be different for every depot you go to.
v To act in an entreprenurial way
Sell your diesel to ■■■■■ at the motorway service area.
vi To act with integrity internally and externally
Keep your mouth shut.
vii To accept social responsibilities.
Standard DHL get out clause.[/b]

No I don’t think it was mate!!
Here are some more odd DHL bits I found on a computer at work:
New delivery vehicle for when the A205 is just too busy.
New sat-nav implemented with DHL Express.
Well who else could he rely on when the reindeer break down?
vi To act with integrity internally
I eat All Bran, does that count?
I’ve seen the signs knocking about down at stretton , never read one yet .It’s yellow and red and has DHL at the top the rest is bound to be total balls
Didn’t they lose some Tesco contracts not long after Deutsche Post took control?
i seem to remember Didcot being brought ‘in house’ and there may have been other sites.
Apparently Tesco did not want the association with a German owned company.
Harks back to WW2 and of course Tesco’s (Tessa Cohen) origins. Seems they have long memories or simply a chip on their shoulder that will never come off.
Didcot wants shutting down
Doghole .
tesco can’t be that bothered about working with a german company as 1 of the warehouses at crick is now run by dhl/exel. heard the same rumour off a stobarts driver saying that’s why dhl would never take over from them on tescos work, it’s whoever comes in with the cheaper offer, and from what i know dhl are running at least 1 contract at loss in nottinghamshire. they are a huge company know so they the can afford to take a loss on some work as the amount off the other contracts will be covering it. eventually everyone will be wearing dhl uniform(german flag if you look close enough)
sprechens deutsche mein frient
Those warehouses were run by power logistics or something like that , then exel and now obviously dhl/exel .I think all of those tesco sites at crick are dhl/exel.
I work out of a Boots RDC. Things were bad enough when we were Bartrums [Dafman will know what I mean] . But since the arrival of Tibbett & Britten, then Exel and more latterly DHL, things have really gone downhill.
Apparently the budget our boss has to work with is so tight, we cant even get the right gloves to wear on the job , or even bulbs for the trucks. Its an absolute joke, and to think DHL is arguably one of the biggest firms in the world.
To be honest, if the DHL way of operating their business is an insight to what the future holds as an employee, then Im seriously thinking of a career change.
