I`ve been told its “Gist” who are running the whole shabangle, my mate was told to have a look at their website for details, but, there was nothing on it mid december :unamused:

Apart from this, the silence is deafening :open_mouth:

From past information the driving jobs will be covered by drivers moving from Long Eaton and Leicester both currently operated by DHL. Rumour was that Coventry depot would be closing as well.

M&S has been undertaking a very long reorganisation of it’s General Merchandising logistics (non food - which is covered by Gist). As depots have reached the end of leases they have been closed, (Middleton, Leicester & Rochdale etc) and started to open giant sheds (Bradford & Castle Donnington). Not uncommon for warehouse to be run by Norbet/Wincanton and DHL run transport as a separate operation.

The DHL operation was being run using the Paragon planning system, which meant jobs were allocated on a daily basis according to demand. So the driver didn’t know what they were doing until the start of the shift and it could be altered as the day progressed, which upset a lot of the longer serving drivers who used to have set runs.
Also they monitored your driving performance on a daily basis, breaks, harsh braking and accleration, overrevving etc, not a job where you were left alone to get on with it.
