Collecting a DFDS ferry trailer from Felixstowe tomorrow. Usually run out of Immingham so first time collecting from Fstowe. Is their quay easy enough to find or is it like Immingham and the trailer could be in one of several terminals…and the planner usually tells you the wrong one!! Also, do I need a RHIDES card or is that just for container terminal? Excuse the daft questions…Hopefully they’ll text more details before I’ve tipped Basildon first thing but just in case I thought I would pose the question on here… you usually pick up some useful info. Thanks 
From memory, you need a Rhodes card, although you can get a temporary one from the police post - go in the far gate (think its gate 2, but could be wrong). Every time I’ve picked up a trailer from there its been in Dooley terminal. Easy to find, just follow the signs marked either Dooley or DLY. I’m sure someone with better local knowledge than me will he along, but I’ve never had a problem (apart from the dammed hand scanner!)
That’s the norm, I spent almost an hour looking for warehouse 7.

Even though his oppo said they could. Some people are just jobsworths!! I didn’t question it though, no point or I’ll be here all day!! Bet his wife is shagging his best mate and makes him watch… so he comes to work to feel like he has some control over somebody!!

Once you get your RHIDES card you’ll be all pleased that you’ve got one.When going into the port you are supposed to scan the card and your hand lol. Here’s a tip. Get the card and shove it up your arse because it doesn’t bloody work. You’ll see all the drivers trying to scan theirs. It doesn’t bloody work so instead of stopping do what I’ll be doing in about 30 minutes, driving straight through.
Flx has two gates, both manned by security, drive to either and they will put you right.
I would make sure you turn up with the correct documents that are required in order to get a rhides card though. Worth finding out what’s required before no?
