DFDS Norfolk Line

Who runs the bureau de change on the ships?

Can I get noncom freight rates without a freight ticket?

I am just being Yorkshire :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Wheelnut,

The bureau on the boat is owned by travelex, as an ex crew member  i can tell you that yes you are required to show your freight boarding card as it is amazing how many of the passengers try it on by saying ’ im freight ’ if you are a regular guy or ■■■■■■■ there and the guys or girls on the desk recognize you then im sure you wouldnt need to show your boarding card each time you wanted to change any money, the rates are ■■■■ by the way so unless you are desperate then i would change your hard earned cash elsewhere
If you sail on the dunquerke seaways by the way say hi to paolo for me !!
Lollie

Personally I’ve always thought the rates to be poor, Malc, captive audience and all that. Pop to the post office or your bank before you go

Cheers for that, normally I never changed up any money and just drew cash when I needed it from automatic cash points but we need 600 quid tomorrow. I shall sort it at this end. Thanks for that great info.

I have been told Tesco gives the best exchange rate for Euros.

Cheers H.

I will have a look on the web. I can only draw 200 quid a day on my card.

Norfolk Line on board exchange is even worse rates (as freight) than the Travelex in Dover docks.

There’s an exchange just inside the entrance of Tesco Dover that’ll give a much better rate than the boat.

I looked at that, but it seems as though they will be shut when we go past in about 4 hours time.

I only got €672 for £600, not good but we have enough Euros for the prize money now.
