DFDS LD Lines new ship is

From DFDS - Great news - we are pleased to announce that we have secured a second ship for our new Calais-Dover service!

The BARFLEUR will begin service on 27 April, joining the NORNAN SPIRIT on the route, providing a total of 10 return sailings per day between Dover and Calais. This is in addition to the 12 return sailings already operating between Dover and Dunkirk.

The BARFLEUR was built in 1992 and offers excellent facilities for 1,212 passengers and 550 cars, plus freight.
We look forward to welcoming you onboard very soon!
So there you go …possible problems ship wasn’t designed for Dover Calais and it has a french crew will it even be painted ? but at least it’s welcome competition.

Its only on loan so Brittany ferries staff say for 6mths

There is now some talk that BF may not charter it and leave it in Caen for the time being
