mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm another one for the loony bin.

stay where you are till you know about this next recession is coming or not.

move on if thats what you want, bit of a no brainer staying if you dont want to

Do what your gut says. If you wanna leave, try new things. If you dont try you wonf know but if a wee niggle says stay thsn stay.

a good job where you are happy is worth at least about three bad ones i’d say. Stay put. recession comming eh!

Decisions decisions …mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

If you decide to move on, Let the guys on here know where your moving on from, so they get half a chance of getting your position 1st

have a look for a small haulier that does a bit of allsorts. fridges, flats, low loaders, abnormal loads, etc.
i did, it was great, everyday was different. after passing my test on the monday, i was pulling a 65’ trailer by the following monday. nearly crapped myself when i had to reverse it, but as daft as it may sound, it was easier than a standard length trailer. i don’t know why, it just was.
go for it, and take a chance.
life is for living.

Thats what i was thinking phil just feeling like imm stuck in rut dont look forward to going to work and its such a big part of life

You’ve answered your own question haven’t you? “Good job - money’s quite good.” So it sounds as if you are happy enough with what you are having to do for what you are getting paid. There are plenty of bad jobs out there and even more that turn out to be bad jobs. There are ones that would be good jobs, if it wasn’t for something that you can’t do anything about. Changing to another place where you aren’t happy, is going to gnaw away at you - especially if you’ve got the responsibility of a family and it may very well be a long, long time before you can find something as good as you’ve got now. You could easily end up stuck in a job you hate, simply because you’ve got little alternative.

Most definitely don’t change because of some posh new motor being offered. A well maintained old nail and ‘quite good money’ is worth far more than all the bells and whistles and tuppence ha’penny.

If you feel like your stuck in a rut and dont want to go work you are probably in the wrong place…

However, there are many things to consider…

For example…

Are you married with or without kids. regular money albeit from a boring job will at least feed the family. If youre single with no ties then just go, youll find something somewhere.

Has you current employer got any other work you could have a shot at, very often one driver will be kept on regular sameold work day in day out because its easier for the boss not to worry about you, when he knows you can get on with the work and not bother him every 5 minutes. If this is the case a quick word in the bosses ear telling him your concerns often results in a change.

Are you on a regular run day in day out…sometimes just a change of route can be the breath of fresh air that you need.
