What do you guys think about this.
Police posted on Twitter that they found one of their drivers having his rest period in his cab, whilst being carried on the back of another DeRooy motor.
Clever intuition or â â â â taking & driver abuse? Iâm inclined to go with the latter.
Fuel saving .But obviously illicit break dodginess in the eyes of vosa or the taxing fine brigade âŚ
Avoiding fine for a 45hour break?
If heâs in the sleeper pod heâd better hope the driver doesnât try squeezing under any low bridges.

Well technically it ainât moving
One of the biggest bunch of cowboys on the road
Is it illegal? The wheels are not moving and he is not working.
âDutch Transport Company Use Every Trick In The Book To Make Moneyâ shocker. âŚ
Further to the van den Bosch thread, why are people so indignant about Dutch companies using every practice going, to make money. They have always been like the Irish, just better dressed.

Yes it is illegal. You can take breaks but not daily or weekly rest in a moving vehicle.

Is it illegal? Only if you get caughtâŚ
You only need to look at the day cabs with small top sleepers to get a feeling of how the company think about the drivers. They only think about profit. They donât just get EE drivers because they are cheaper. They canât get Dutch drivers to drive around in those cabs and do nights out.
I personally donât see the problem if he was in his own cab. But yes as others have said Mr De Rooy doesnât have a great name for law abiding
Is it illegal?
Is he free to spent his time as he sees fit?
Maybe get out and go for a walk? Have a meal or coffee? Canât be restful or legal can it?

My mistake, I take that back.
Interesting thought though is he canât take a rest in his truck which isnât moving on the back of another yet rest in a ferry is fine. Would possibly be worth going to court over, would most probably lose but it would be an interesting case

I did see the ferry parallel too. If on a ferry then the ferry has to provide a bunk etc doesnât it, for a rest period to be valid. And thereâs opportunity to move around a bit.
I wonder how much sway and rocking there would be up in a pod loaded like that? In fact Iâve never slept in a pod, and really wouldnât fancy it too much even stationary.
