Demolition

Anyone listen to Blaster Bates, i happened to stumble across a few of his tapes recently, still a few good laughs to be had listening to his stories of blasting in various situations

I think that Blaster Bates was supersceded by Fred Dibnah. If Blaster had a son would he be young Master Bates>

I remember my Dad listening to a cassette when I was a kid and there was tears running down his face. I went to see Blaster in the early 1990s and he was interesting but not exactly funny.

I think a lot of years ago I think the humour would have been very good , being in line with the more traditional way of life for that era maybe, I don’t know when the recordings were , but thought them to be 60’s 70’s maybe.

I have found myself though if you read a book or listen to a tape, & then go to see the act or film etc, it does seem to loose the β€˜flair’ and not be as good on the night. Some of the tapes are not so funny as the others , although i still could have a good laugh at some of them

Several of his albums are on Spotify. Brilliant stuff!

I sometimes watch the 1970s comedians on youtube look up names like Bobby Thomson ,the little waster. Its social history really .
