Anyone listen to Blaster Bates, i happened to stumble across a few of his tapes recently, still a few good laughs to be had listening to his stories of blasting in various situations
I think that Blaster Bates was supersceded by Fred Dibnah. If Blaster had a son would he be young Master Bates>
I remember my Dad listening to a cassette when I was a kid and there was tears running down his face. I went to see Blaster in the early 1990s and he was interesting but not exactly funny.

I think a lot of years ago I think the humour would have been very good , being in line with the more traditional way of life for that era maybe, I donβt know when the recordings were , but thought them to be 60βs 70βs maybe.
I have found myself though if you read a book or listen to a tape, & then go to see the act or film etc, it does seem to loose the βflairβ and not be as good on the night. Some of the tapes are not so funny as the others , although i still could have a good laugh at some of them
Several of his albums are on Spotify. Brilliant stuff!
I sometimes watch the 1970s comedians on youtube look up names like Bobby Thomson ,the little waster. Its social history really .
