Who thought this was a good use of resources, that it would be used?

Some places the forkies won’t load/unload you unless they can see you standing in the square-sad but true.
I despair.
So sitting in the cab is not acceptable? I know many RDC’s do not allow it but at least they provide you with a waiting room (shelter, seat, toilets and drinks machine as a minimum)
Most of us have more sense than to stand behind a forklift, or drive off an RDC bay against a red light, but they have to allow for the one that doesn’t.
It’s partly because of that one that all these sometimes apparently silly rules exist.
That and the need for the H&S person or department to make it look like they are needed.
That standing area doesn’t even look sufficiently out of the way or protected by anything meaningful, plus if you need to make a quick getaway, you are hindered.
Sad but true. Had a similar thing at Costco Liverpool when i was on agency. Things do get better work wise lol.
