Yes and yes

Hi James,
When you get out the analogue truck take the paper tacho out draw a line on the tacho next to the last trace and write the new truck reg in. when you finish your shift put another line on the paper tacho for end of shift.
When you get in the digi truck don’t forget manual entry for checks.
That’s how I would but stand to be corrected by cleverer folk.

Yes, you would take the analogue chart out when you left that vehicle.

Manual entries would be required to cover any time between vehicles (e.g. you pulled the chart at 11am but didn’t put your card in the digi vehicle until 1130) but it would be up to you whether you made that manual entry on the analogue chart or on the digicard.

Same would apply if you switched from a digi-equipped lorry to an analogue vehicle - pull the card from the digi and make manual entries to cover any “gaps” between vehicles.

I used to write “on digi (insert times)” on the back of the chart.
