Got quote & edit on it but when going for edit it does say edit/delete this post but there is no facility to delete it

if you look at the top right straight after posting it was there im sure it was, honest…

If you are allowed to delete a post it’ll show as a little X icon just to the right of the quote and edit buttons.

It’s probable that you can only delete a post up until someone else posts on the same thread. The next post could refer to something you said, if you then delete your post the conversation would become confusing to anyone reading it later.

I’m not 100% sure about it, 'cause the little x is visible on all posts, to mod’s and admin.
