Hey guys. Obviously each company has their own methods for defect reporting. I came across this app for android which is fantastic especially if you wanted to keep your own personal records. Each report can be emailed and you are able to save pictures with any defects. I thought it was pretty good and thought I would share.
Everywhere I’ve worked has had a document to complete that you can’t get out of filling in. Either has formed part of your timesheet, or where I currently am, you can’t leave the gatehouse without handing one to security.

but if you got a camera phone its quicker taking a picture of your defect sheet all filled in 
I’m not denying anything you guys are saying, just thought it was a pretty well thought out app, especially as you can include photos within the report of any damage etc. You can set up your own lists too.

The app I have (from luke who does the truck timer app) lets you take pictures if you select a defect and attaches them to any report you email. Its a useful tool if youre away tramping as the office can see any oarts that might need ordering or use it to assist understanding whats been written.

EDIT: just to add; if you have specialist equipment (adr, hiab, PTO, fridge) fitted, you can create your own saved defect using the main as a template.
