I use 2 different vehicles in connection with my employment.

  1. 18 tonne has a newish analogue tacho very similar to a digital and when the vehicle is not in motion the tacho defaults to ‘rest’
  2. 26 tonne with digital tacho. When not in motion it defaults to ‘other work’
    Can the digital tacho be made to default to ‘rest’ the same as the analogue?

Nope, they changed it when they introduced the digital tacho specifically to stop people leaving it on break as it means you’re almost guaranteed to be comitting an offence by recording a break when you’re actually doing other work.
