Deductions for breaks

My new company have said there going to deduct 45 mins a day out of my pay! Can they do this?? Also there is no drivers room! Dose this matter?

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you!

So they decided deduct breaks and removes drivers room so drivers cant get together and plan a big MOAN about it. hehe…

On a serious note, they can do any think they like as long as you sign a contract. Contract changes can be done, as long as driver is made aware of it in ■■■ time and agrees.

You don’t even have to sign a contract it can be as simple as that’s the normal practice.

In such case you have an argument. All you need is Big enough BALLS to confront your managers.

And some application forms to fill out the next day when you are sat at home wishing you had kept your mouth shut.

Nice! Isn’t there supposed to be a resting area for drivers? Just hear that your supposed to away from your vehicle when on 45min.

No contracts were signed nore did they mention it, it was only when I was checking my payslips is when I confronted them.

No contract so it’s a contract of mutual agreement . ■■■■ it up or find another job will be the answer

Cheers!

Im not sure they can deduct your income without proper consultation. It makes no sense. I think you should seek advice. Citizens … maybe.

I know your holiday pay must be same as your avarage weeks pay inc bonuses and overtime pay. And you can backtrack it by 2 years. So this should have some legal status.

Thank you for that, I wil most definitely worth looking into. Thank you

From what I’ve noticed about most jobs is that they take your break time off your pay. That all jobs, not just trucking. If you find a company that will pay you for your breaks well done… And let us know who it is too
