Roll-on them finishing the new underpass to link the M62E to the A1S. I am sick of coming down the slip-road in the right hand lane to turn right (which is also marked as right turn only lane) and have cars/vans/impatient truckers coming down the nearside lane (which is marked A1N and Services only) and have them follow me round the roundabout for the A1S on my nearside. It happens EVERY time I go that way. I’m going to start taking bets .
I won’t give way to them and if they’re up my nearside when I get past the M62E ramp back on, I indicate left and pull over regardless (making sure I don’t make contact, obviously - as tempting as it is ). If there’s someone in the way, tough [zb]. My air horn regularly gets an airing there

It’s a similar craic when you come off the M25 anti-clockwise for the A1N. There are two unmarked lanes down to the humungous roundabout and as a professional driver and knowing the lane markings on the roundabout I take the right hand lane, also indicating right. As you get through the lights, the road splits into 3 lanes which I believe are marked left, straight on and right respectively. Again I take the right hand lane. As you get through those lights the left hand lane disappears off on the exit to where ever it goes, the middle lane then becomes the nearside lane and the right hand lane splits into 2 lanes which is clearly marked on the road.
Naturally, I continue indicating right but follow the line markings on my nearside which actually feeds you into the middle lane with another 3 lane appearing. What happens is that those in the straight on lane at the previous set of lights ignore the fact that their lane feeds to the nearside and continue in the centre of the carriageway thus crossing the lane separation line and forcing you into the outside right turn lane. This is very poor road planning/marking in my opinion and the junction should be clearly marked which lanes feed onto which roads and the lane markings altered accordingly if necessary.
It was only this Wednesday that I had a rigid driver cut across the line into my lane knock my nearside mirror back, nearly colliding with my nearside. Thankfully, as I know the roundabout well I anticipated it happening and got out of the way, but when we got to the lights 10yds further along I got up and give him a large slice of my mind about paying attention to road markings etc.
I’m sure in true Highways style, they’ll wait until a few more people are killed then they’ll install humps, cycle-lanes, chevrons, 7.5t limits, width restrictions, height restrictions, cameras, bus-lanes to “help” us and then reduce our space to our “artics only need 9ft” to make us completely happy when trying to negotiate the roundabout in future…
