Hope this was worth the wait!!!
This pic was taken after Machins took on the Dears operation (along with David Dear) They kept a few of the Volvo’s, including EEG 5Y pictured previously. This F12, which I think was A977RVL had just been recovered back to Surfleet. The Scania on the front was, I think, the Late Paul Avisons, and was one of 11 brand new 112’s (6 r cabs and 5 P cabs) put into Quadring, as all the Dears DAF’s and the remaining Volvo’s went back.
p.s. these F12’s were flying machines!
Thanks for this.
I definitely rode in EEG 5Y when I was little. It must have been pretty old by the time Machins took over Dears. I think Ray who originally had that lorry went on to have a B reg Daf 3300 and then an E Reg F12 with Twin Rear axles before it all ended.
Cheers

Hello again Kev.
Ray’s Volvo would probably have been a B reg. Machins had the option on that, but it needed some money spent to make it fit! A dealer called Len Gray from Boston bought it. There wouldn’t have been an E reg, as they were part of Machins by then; you will see in the pic one of their D reg Scania 112’s
Hi
I’m looking for any photos of Dears of Donington lorries, (Lincs haulage company from the 80’s).
Thanks for your help.
Kev
Hope this will do as a start Kev. Found this on another thread. I know i’ve seen another one too, but i’ll be damned if I can
find it.
Thanks GB1
