Just about everything we have had as a country has been sold out to foriegn ownership(how the hell does a poor country like spain manage to buy uk industries??)

Easy, as a “poor” EU country a few years ago, Spain got EU money for development, ie developing industry and infrastructure.

Same is happening now - Ford received a cheap £80m EU loan to upgrade it’s Turkish plant days before it announced it was ending Transit production in Southampton…

I’m looking forward to the excuses the politicians devise to blame anyone, absolutely anyone, for their inability to control the situation.

You can’t really lay the blame completely at the door of Politicians, they get voted in by us and we want to buy things and don’t want to save for them.

I don’t lay the blame completely at the feet of politicians, we all played a part in this fiasco - some more than others.
But as it has been the politicians who have been dealing with this for the past 4 years it will be they who will deal with any future problems. But our political classes are hamstrung by their need to satisfy their own political needs, particularly the party political needs. Hence my statement above.

Our biggest export now, Is our waste, my god how bad are things when the only thing we can find to sell abroad is waste paper, cardboard and scrap metal

Very true . . . but it does add to our export figures. :unamused: It’s the fact that this waste is then classed as completely recycled, even though the paper and cardboard is going to the Chinese power stations to be burned. :open_mouth:
