I reckon not, after all Border control don’t even check that the driver has a driving licence …
Non UK LGV drivers will be checked in the same way that ours are - random roadside checks
The authorities are going to have a bit of a headache for the next 2 years because many EU countries have acquired rights until 2016
As I understand it, if you are legal to drive in the country where your licence is issued, you are legal anywhere in the EU. So if your licence is from a country where the DCPC date is 2016, you can happily drive in the uk without DCPC until then.

Correct. The DVSA/Police will need to identify country of origin. Any found without the DCPC are liable for prosecution. Most will be asked for a £400 deposit payment and fail to turn up in court
Don’t worry, there will be only 7 countries of the EU left until 2016 after sept. See the table at the end of this link.
Slightly off topic, but we were told that the prices and availability of courses would be a problem as the deadline approached, however agencies are giving them away free to anyone who joins up! There`s loads of adverts for it.
Got my last 3 free thanks to ADR.

Quick question about foreign drivers and cpc, this is as good a topic as any…
What about drivers from say, Canada or Aus ? Will they be allowed to drive here or will they also need CDPC to drive legally ?

EG. What if say someone was importing a collection of cars and a Canadian driver was delivering them ?

They would unlikely to also bring a lorry and driver as well as the cars
There must be sometime though when foreign drivers (EG Canadian, Australian, USA etc.) that are not EU need to deliver into an EU country though, surely.

Cannot see a situation that would require that
Bit narrow minded Rog.Renault went around the USA on Route 66 trying to flog lorries, don’t think it was very successful so perhaps a manufacturer
from across the pond might turn up here and try the same and I doubt the CPC would be too much of an issue.A show fleet of Lonestars would
certainly attract attention and they already exceed Euro 6 have done for years and the likely issue of bonneted safety now doing the rounds, hell!
they might sell quite a few…

I’m sure I’ve read that drivers who aren’t citizens of EU countries, working for companies based outside the EU don’t need a DCPC, the example was Russia or Turkey. But drivers from the USA do drive their truck over here, every year at least one of the US team at Le Mans bring their truck and drive it from Liverpool to Le Mans and I know of a US team that did a full European race series using their own truck. The same thing happens with European teams doing races in the US, Prodrive did it a couple of years ago with 3 of their trucks going from New York to California then on to do petit Le Mans near Atlanta I think.
