DCPC

Can any body tell me if my National & International CPC will count for this pathetic DCPC Thanks

NO… two completly different things

some places are allowing it.

How…?

holding an operators CPC in no way counts against the periodic DCPC … training for an operators CPC may count towards the DCPC only if the course is JAUPT approved…
but that wasnt the question, the question was does holding an operators CPC count towards ongoing periodic training and the answer is an emphatic no

(just one of the reasons why the DCPC is ill thought out, ill advised and a complete sham in my opinion)

If that is what he meant, the opening post didnt make that clear and the answer is still NO unless the course is JAUPT approved

It can be the most relevant training there is… but if it is not Quango (JAUPT) approved it means nothing towards the DCPC you could take a degree in road haulage (there is probably an ex polytechnic now called unversity offering it as a course) and study for 5 years pass with honours, and not a moment would count towards the DCPC.

My dcpc has an expiry of 2021, does anyone know when I can start the next batch of 35 hours.

Not doubting ya, but how does that work? you have 35 hours done +grandfather rights? still doesnt get you to 2021

Thanks for all replys

No they aren’t. They may have registered some elements of the training they give in preparation for an Operators CPC as DCPC hours but having an Operators CPC is nothing to do with the DCPC.

I have an Operators CPC but still had to attend for 35 hours of DCPC training (even though I own a training company and deliver DCPC) to get my DQC card.

EDIT - Sorry. didn’t read the other posts before I typed this …

How? if you pass the initial DCPC today the expiry of the card would be 16/03/2017 - 5 years validity.

if you have acquired rights complete 35 hours now - the card will have an expiry of 09/09/2019

Confused

Grandfather rights for hgv , done psv in 2011 with initial cpc takes me to 2016 , + 35 hours = 2021

Had two new dcpc cards in 4 months

Don’t these combine onto one card?

If someone with cat C & D licence and acquired rights for both categories and completes 35 hours now - they get a card with a September 2019 expiry for both categories (so they get an extra year on the cat D)

Surely your cat D runs for 5 years from the initial pass date and your cat C runs for 5 years from initial pass date - or runs to Sep 2019 if you had acquired rights for this category.

So you have a card with a 2021 expiry date? I must be thick cos i don’t get it

So … you had acquired rights for the Cat C and hadn’t done any DCPC.

Passing the initial CPC for your Cat D would give you to 2016 to have completed 35 hours periodic training … so you’re saying they gave you a fresh 5 year period for the Car C?

■■■■■■ I’m confused.

Had acquired rights till 2014 for hgv, done psv test in dec 2011 and initial cpc for psv thus got sent a dcpc card with 2014 date on it for hgv and 2016 date for psv, just completed 35 hours so new card received with both hgv and psv dates brought into line 5 years from 2016 new card says 2021 expiry . Simples so gain a free 2 years for hgv

Ahh … I missed you had completed 35 hours periodic training … plus i didn’t think it’d work like that :unamused:

Makes sense they have rolled both categories into line now though

So did you have 2 cards at some point? One for each category?

I would suspect then - that you shouldn’t do any periodic training until within 5 years before your 2021 expiry

Had one card with different dates i,e 2014 hgv and 2016 psv which was done in 2011
Now got new card after 35 hours cpc , so am I right in thinking i will have to wait till 2016 before doing anymore cpc hours

You’ve done well there, my dCPC brought my PCV inline with my HGV for 2019.

Yes, if what you say is true (not doubting you), then within 5yrs of expiry is when you can start your next, anything before will be lost as 7hr of mine have been
