It looks like a certainty now that there,ll be a referendum on E.U. membership, regardless of who gets in next time.
The politicians are realising there is little appetite in this country to remain in it.
Two questions, what do you reckon,ll happen to the W.T.D and the dcpc when we leave?
How many people out there are now planning to invest into becoming a cpc trainer?

If there is a referendum for being IN/OUT of the EU and we choose OUT then it will be up to the UK Govt as to what laws we keep or get rid of
Would we be under AETR tacho regs which are virtually the same as the EU regs ■■
There ius already a proposal for all member states to use their own ideas on the WTD. The problems for junior doctors and long distance lorry drivers were cited as a reason.

It’s a way of life, can’t wait till we all get £30 an hour for a eight hour shift!
Boss of a HAULAGE co. Trafford park " just NIP this to brum drive, tip have a split daily rest, and run home empty! "
I reply " cool as boss, see you later pal "
" No probs our kid, drive safely in that Scania Z234 series, 1999 bhp right hand drive, with nappies on, we’ve got to balance the books on that 1.1mpg run! " replies the gaffer
" shall I overtake all the rumus, Bulgars and hungaros■■? On £2.50 an hour or shall I just toss it off for my flat eight hours? Boss! " I ask
" as a fully trained professional, with DCPC till you’re a hundred and five, because you’re retiring at 106 years old, just stop at KNUTSFORD, sandbach and keele on the way down, but on the way back just have a coffee at Hilton park to keep you awake, as Vostapo won’t want you tired and fatigued after diving all that way, DRIVE!
"
Happy haulage coming to a place NEAR YOU!
If Britain op’s out of Europe, then I think the DCPC will remain In place as I’ve heard from a friend of mine that Switzerland & Norway ( there also not In Europe) also have to abide by the same rules as the rest of Europe regarding the DCPC…
I could be wrong though…
They will still keep it as it contributes to professionalism and therefore road safety.

There are two thing you can guarantee…The DCPC moneyspinner is here to stay …and as long as we have holes in our arrses…there will be no referendum…oh and I’d vote out
Liebour promised an in or out referendum a few years ago! And guess what? They pulled the idea and signed The Lisbon Treaty! Expect the same from the Tories!

Excuse me asking but how old are you? I’m guessing under 30 if you believe that’s the case! Politicians = LIARS!
The professionalism angle is what they used to justify it in europe, not necessarily my view. I know drivers who have forgotten more than most of us put together and could do the job spot on, blindfolded. But as they don’t have any qualifications other than reputation, their CV’s look bare compared to a guy who has been doing the job 5 mins and spent 4 of them in a classroom. It wont go away so you might as well try and get other tickets for hiab, FLT, whilst you have to sit there. Once the 2014 rush is over the cost will drop for training and hopefully £/hr rates will rise because existing drivers have retired because of it.

What qualification are you getting by doing your DCPC ?..jack ■■■■■■ and us older drivers are hanging onto a reputation…its called experience …you cant buy that ! but it seems a lot are thinking they are buy doing the DCPC…wake up fella…its a tax and nowt else.
DCPC doesn’t replace experience in any way, but in the current age of H&S red tape, training to make a brew safely etc, employers who increasingly know nothing about driving trucks will just go for the bloke with the most cards, letters after their name, blah blah blah, just to meet some silly job criteria thought up by a pen pusher in the HR department. Thats just how things are going at the moment.

Do you actually believe that? Do you not think its CallMeDave staining his underwear about the level of Tory voters that are defecting to UKIP, so just sound bite crap.
CallMeDave said in an interview in 2006 or was it 2009
in opposition that he would give the UK a referendum before the Lisbon treaty was signed, but he now has to wait till he gets another term in office to do as Tony Blair and gordon “Failed my 11+ in maths” Brown said themselves to get votes. The Torys, like the condems and Labour, will never give you a referendum on the EU as long as anyone of those MP’s have got a hole in their backside. They have too much of a personal vested interest in staying in the EU.
Just my opinion like, nothing factual to back it up folks.
Its no dead cert there will be a referendum, and if there ever is there’s every chance we’ll have to keep voting till we give them the answer they want, just like the Irish.
Its a politicians promise which means lying even when they’re lying, as a rule they have no concept or comprehension of honour and their word means nothing, if one of them told me his name i’d have to double check.
