DCPC: Join in or keep quiet?

Do you “relate experiences” or do you keep quiet, hoping the course will end quicker? I ask this because on my course last week, an old timer had to relate his predictable experiences and mishaps (sounded like Frank Spencer/Boss and Driver) and bore us all senseless. Also, would you politely tell someone to stop boring you, or be polite and look half interested?

As a cpc trainer i tend to jump in and stop people taking too much time up talking about the experiences they have had unless relevant to the topic or when someone falls off their chair due to falling asleep ! to be fair i’ve actually learned some things myself so its a case of take each driver and his tales on its merits. Still would’nt make the course finish any earlier ! lol

Why not join in the conversation by utilising a different orifice after consuming a couple of jars or pickled onions the night before this can often bring any unwanted event to an early close. I advise taking a spare pair of undercrackers in case you follow through though.

It doesn’t matter if you’re burning too much diesel  you’re there for seven hours :open_mouth: plus breaks and lunch :unamused: stobrats 10 hours paid :bulb: free lunch :imp: but let go/ woke up after 9.5 hrs! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

I do feel sorry for some DCPC trainers (EPIC ones excepted, those courses are a combination of intelligence-insulting and a cure for insomnia). I’m sure most people have been on a course with someone who loves the sound of their own voice.

I always keep quiet, even though you don’t get out any earlier. You’re always gonna get these old story tellers, some are funny characters, some ain’t and some just don’t know when to shut up! I wouldn’t tell anyone that they were boring, they should detect that from my body language
