DCPC for mechanics : "grey area"

I’ve been asked by the lads in the garage at the place I work if I can find what the actual law is come 10 September for mechanics and DCPC cards. Apparently, VOSA, DSA and a “transport law specialist” have been contacted to find out some answers and each has said “it’s a very grey area and depends on one’s interpretation at the time”, which is simply not good enough. :unamused:

Can anyone (‘tachograph’ ?) point me to some official documentation regarding this specific topic please so I can print it out for them and they know for sure. Much appreciated.

You might get something official if you email the DVSA and ask them for a link to the statute but no chance on the internet IMO

Nice one Rog, ta. So it was a grey area prior to the legislation amendment 13 November 2013 but it’s pretty clear now.
