OK, I know this dCPC has been covered, but I have a question that it doesn’t seem anyone can answer.
A friend of mine has been driving busses 28yrs, so obviously has grandfather rights on his busses.
Now, today he passed his C.
Does he have to sit any or all of the dCPC before he can work, or does the bus grandfather rights branch over.
Logic would say he’s gotta sit it all, but when I did my dCPC it reset my bus one to 9.9.2019 same as my HGV one.
Thanks guys
As he has been driving PCVs for 28 years then he must also have LGV C1 on his licence having passed his car test prior to 1997 giving him aquired/grandfather rights for LGV
Passing C has no effect on his grandfather rights for LGV
He needs 35 hours of dcpc by 09/09/2013 to continue driving PCVs commercially after that date
He needs 35 hours of dcpc by 09/09/2014 to continue driving LGVs commercially after that date
As he has both PCV & LGV then one set of 35 hours will count for both

Ahh, of course, I forgot all about 7.5t entitlement, yes he has that, so the answer was obvious… Thanks Rog
