Dcpc abroad

What have other countries done about introducing the Dcpc?
I know some countries like France have had something in place for years, But i’ve no idea what they have to do to get it.
Any ideas?
I’ve heard some Dutch drivers come here to get it as it’s much more straight forward, But on the other hand i don’t know how that’ll work with the upload and a Dutch licence.

Apparently Limeyphil, every country in the EU has been allowed to introduce the CPC in their own way, in their own rules, which will apply throughout the EU, you are right about the Dutch, it is easier for them to do it in UK. anyone with a European licence can apply to DVLA and get a counterpart paper licence to enable them to do it in UK, however after, 2018 I think, the paper licence is finished and all of Europe will have the same licenc like the pink card in UK, which will also include the DCPC and any qual’s like, ADR, HIAB ,MOFFAT etc, on a chip, I believe that is the plan, if it happens that is.

Anyone know how it works in countries like Greece where they have financial issues ?

Yes, in France you have to have the Formation Initial Minimum Obligatiore (FIMO) before you can drive for a living and then after 5 years (and every 5 yrs after) you have to do the Formation Continue Obligatoire (FCO). The FIMO is 4 weeks long and costs in the order of 1800 = 2000€. The FCO is 1 week long and I guess would cost about 500€. This training (4 weeks or 1 wk) is done in one go. The FIMO includes a certain amount of driving (7 days in my case in groups of 4). There are also two written exams that have to be passed, one on safety, tacho rules etc and the other on vehicule mechanics. All very interesting and enjoyable, even if your an old hand.

…hmmm, so I could do my DCPC somewhere sunny where the wine is cheap and I can charge the travel, accomodation and subsistence expenses against tax. I wonder if you have to understand the language. You don’t in this country. The only prerequisite here is a pulse…not even sure of that
