Day driving, what to take?

Hi all
I’ve got myself a job driving class 1 for reed boardall, my question is I’ll be doing day work to start with so what items should I take with me? I have a little holdall to put items in but don’t know what items to put in! Any advice will be gratefully recieved.
Thank you.

licence and digicard, obviously. Food, ■■■■, lighter, drinks, sat-nav, maps, pen, spare pen, hard hat, hi-vis.
can’t think of anymore…spare pants if you have an accident :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I used to take kitchen roll, baby wipes to wipe steering wheel gear handbrake radio etc …

Licence, digicard. tacho’s(agency) Cheap disposable camera incase of accidents damage to goods on back (for my proof even though I have a camera on my phone)

Spare hi-vi torch pens spare digi paper, writing paper, gloves and spare pair.

Atlas of london & uk, mobile charger, money, flask for coffee rolls. spare to,p tooth brush and paste just incase i got caught out of hours and clean underwear for same reason.

If your driving for Reeds as a day man I’d take sleeping bag with you!

pmsl

what about a phone charger etc, handsfree kit and all that jazz.

A bigger bag by the sound of things! A wee gas stove with plenty of va-va-voom so you’re not waiting forever for a brew! Torch, some mobiles have a little one built in. Tape measure.

Firstly, congrats on the job. Yet another one!!

I second all the above - especially the “tongue in cheek” sleeping bag. IME there’s no such thing as a “day shift”. Anything can happen and you must always be prepared for a night out.

It may not be planned - but welcome to the world of transport!

All the best, Pete

Cheers for all the replys guys, best get myself a bigger bag! Think I’ve got most of that stuff already, cab has hands free fitted and my mobile too. Think I’ll take a sleeping bag and pillow too!! Well start on the 26th of march so will keep you all posted on how it goes!

You’ll get back even if you have to go over, the night shift driver will need the lorry.
