Where I work you rarely go anywhere you haven’t been, if you do… there is a line of guys giving you very accurate directions so no need for sat nav or maps. At other places I’ve worked

Sat Nav (car one)
Bridge Height Map
Pair of socks rolled up in a pair of boxers (Just incase)
Tooth brush and tooth paste (Just incase)

Usually use a Puma duffle bag, recently been using a Kriega R25 bag, It’s a specialists motorcycle rucksack, been using the bike a bit recently :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s down to ■■■■■ planning then new lad. Ran out of time a few times when on shift work but told em to get me back or a room for the night or the truck gets left there. Want me to night out then warn me the day before the shift so can bring the right kit in and pay me night out money or forget it.

I don’t even carry a bag anymore. Bring a clipboard in with me for carrying paperwork, a pen, my gloves and thats it. I have a pack of multi surface wipes and a few spare tacho rolls in my jacket. Use Google Maps on my phone for planning any routes. I work nights and don’t eat anything, have a big dinner before which ties me over.

Not doing many + 12 hour shifts then? Id have eaten my right arm by the end of a 15.

I wouldn’t be working nights if I had to do 15 hours, far too brutal :open_mouth: :open_mouth: I do get peckish occasionally, but given I serve 24 hour supermarkets you can always nip in and buy a cheap butty easily enough which is a bonus & you can cadge brews along the way so no flask needed. Used to lug my bag in everyday and never touched anything in it, so thought whats the point! Don’t even need to carry a torch anymore for walk round checks as theres one on my iPhone.

I have 2 bags… 1 summer 1 winter.
Summer has sunnies. Water. food. flask. Pocket map.
Wipes hand gel. Paracetamol. Bog roll.
Sat nav. Chargers. Spare gloves.

Winter bag has dry socks ×2 jumper x1.
Sleeping bag. Thick gloves. Book. Daft hat.
(Been stuck in snow drifts in the sticks b4.)

As its my unit its got blue roll in it. Bug wash for windows.
Spare screen wash. Wet weather kit.
Daft hi viz kit×3 (different sites need different vests).
Spare water×6 (relief driver does replace them!!!)

‘… 2 bags … Summer has sunnies…’

Good point - but my sunnies are all year since the blinder is lower and arguably more obnoxious in winter :sunglasses:
