Day at Deeset Logistics

hitch:
why is Dee Set got a 17 in the logo
in French its dix sept

Apparently from what I can gather off a permanent driver when I spent a bit of time there, 17 is the owners favorite number so obviously DEE SET sounds better than SEVENTEEN.

I was told there was some tie up with a French haulage company in Departement 17.

It seems that now the work is solely UK & mainly for Asda where previously they carried perfumes. It could be hogwash of course, but eau de toilette smells the same :stuck_out_tongue:

It is (or was) a few years ago 100% UK and 98% ASDA work. It was all 1ctn here and 1 ctn there all various items all to ASDA stores.
Nothing at all to do with a French company.

IIRC it was started off by the management of the contract which was then held by ANC they split and started DEE-SET LOGISTICS and a lot of the funding come from the owner of City Refrigeration (the firm which fixes all in store fridges and ovens).

well that’ll give me something else to think about when i see them

I regularly see their wagons coming and going from the Bridgwater town (Wylds Road) area down the A38 to get on the M5 at Dunball and head north. Think they must have some sort of regular drop/pickup in the area.

There’s an Asda store in Bridgwater near Wylds rd so I guess they’ll be coming from there.

Deeset collect and distribute Dvds, cds & video games, greetings cards & some other stuff to all Asda stores.

I did a few weeks for them on agency last summer & they seem to give the collection runs to agency drivers, store deliveries are done by their own lads.

What Bugcos did isn’t unusual for agency work on there… the best run I had was Rugby & back. 1.5 hours there, 50 mins loading & 1.5 hours home= 8 hours pay
